ALO-HOLA

Recently our Rock’in Hearts outreach program gathered key members of Los Angeles society from the Hispanic and Middle Eastern communities in our first ALO-HOLA event. This event was the genesis of a think tank that will work with civic leaders in Los Angeles to create change by uniting and strengthening our region as a whole. The outgrowth of this event will be the blueprint for future outreach, relief and social programs both here at home and in other countries of the world. [Read More about Events]

Through Different Eyes

In our rapidly changing world the Middle East – including those from it and the issues that ground it and inflame it – alternates between the mysterious, infuriating and endearing. The Middle East has experienced revolutions of place, language, identity, and access. These revolutions have deep historic roots and profound individual impact.

Interwoven in the Through Different Eyes stories are profiles of three people who effectively become the preverbal “fish out of water” and in the process saw intriguing worlds in different ways. Along the way, each tells their story of appreciation and understanding that ultimately many of us reach when we reach outside of our own world and embrace another.

Through Different Eyes does not approach the topic of community from the perspective of sentimentality or of overcoming prejudice, nor does it deny the reality of conflict or challenging of living outside your comfort zone. Rather it takes three accomplished performers – a photographer, filmmaker and singer – and collectively weaves a tale of tolerance and acceptance.
